COFFEE LABELS & PACKAGING

My task for each of the following coffee package and label designs was to come up with an eye catching concept or illustration that reflected the culture from which each coffee was grown and imported. Some of the designs shown include the die line for the entire coffee bag, others are sticker labels.

Client: Costco Kirkland Signature Brand

Role: Designer, Illustrator

Costa Rica Whole Bean Coffee: I created two different design solutions for this packaging. To demonstrate the Costa Rican culture, I decided to illustrate animals that are native to this geography as an appealing way to feature the organic culture of the area. Shown here are the cropped-in areas of the front and side panels. Ultimately, the client chose the design with the parrot.

Indonesian Whole Bean Coffee: I created two different design solutions for this coffee label. To demonstrate the Indonesian culture, I decided to illustrate indigenous patterns and scenery as an appealing way to feature the ethnic culture of this lush coffee producing area. Ultimately, the client chose the blue scenery design.

Hawaiian Maui Whole Bean Coffee: I created two different design solutions for this coffee label. To demonstrate the Hawaiian culture, I decided to illustrate a couple of popular Hawaiian icons, surfing and the hibiscus flower. Ultimately, the client chose the surfer.

Cafe Gourmet Tostada: To branch out into the Mexican market, I designed a line look for Kirkland Signature that would appeal to the mass market. Based on postage stamps, shown here in full die line layout are the French Roast and House Blend.
